Drug Segment Scene Overview

Scene 1 - BENCH 1 DRUGS - Location Left Bench Outside Hawthorn

Henry walks out of Hawthorn and turns left and as he’s walking he catches the eye of a group of people sitting on the bench. The ask Henry to come over, Henry proceeds to go over and ask what they want. One member of the group opens his bag and takes out a variety of drugs and shows Henry. Henry acts surprised and shocked with what he sees and then gets offered one of the drugs.

Scene 2 - TAKE THE DRUGS - Location Left Bench Outside Hawthorn

The group gives Henry the drug and they laugh at him saying “You won’t do it!” Henry takes a good few seconds to think, and he looks at everyone at the group and everyone is staring at him watching him do it. They say “Hurry up!”, Henry then takes the drugs and the group congratulate him, the group say “We have something else for you” and then ask him to come over and meet their other friends.

Scene 3 - WALK OFF - Location Road Down the Side of Hawthorn

Henry says “No” (Shaking his head) and the group say “Oh come on we won’t be over there for long”. Henry proceeds to ignore the group and walk off down the side of the college. Half way down the hill Henry gets some blurred vision and stumbles over on the grass and collapses.

Scene 4 - GO WITH THEM - Location Stairwell Outside Hawthorn

Henry, acting nervously, is taken over to another group of friends by that group who just gave him the drugs. As he approaches them they say “Who’s this?!”, the Drug group say, “this is a new member of our group”,  to which this new group welcome Henry to the group and give him a cigarette. As Henry is nervous and underpressure he smokes the cigarette. As time passes and Henry’s finished smoking the cigarette the group asks Henry if he wants to join them in fighting the people sitting on a bench who have alcohol.  

Scene 5 - FIGHT THEM - Location Right Bench Outside Hawthorn

Henry agrees to help fight the people on the Alcohol bench and the group approaches the bench in an intimidating manor. The group suddenly gets attacked out of nowhere and Henry gets knocked out whilst the rest of his group runs away.

Scene 6 - WALK AWAY - Location Road Down the Side of Hawthorn

Henry comes up with an excuse that he has to be home soon and the group says “Alright then”. Henry proceeds to walk off and starts to feel the effects of the drugs that he has taken and sees someone walking towards him which he could approach and ask for some water to help with the effects.

Scene 7 - ASK FOR WATER - Location Road Down the Side of Hawthorn

Henry decides to approach this person and ask for some water. He gets given some water and feels suddenly refreshed and alive. Henry continues his walk and walks out of the college feeling fine after a tense and unexpected turn of events throughout his day.  

Scene 8 - DON’T ASK FOR WATER - Location Road Down the Side of Hawthorn

Henry decides to carry on walking home and not ask for any water. Shortly after, Henry begins to stumble and faint due to the effects of the drugs that he has taken.

Scene 9 - DON’T TAKE DRUGS - Location Left Bench Outside Hawthorn

Henry declines the offering of the drugs and the group immediately intimidate him and try and persuade him to take them by saying things such as, “They won’t do anything to you”, “These drugs hardly do anything”, “We will knock you out if you don’t take them!” The whole group begin to circle Henry as he makes his decision.

Scene 10 - DON’T TAKE DRUGS - Location Left Bench Outside Hawthorn

Henry says no again and gets sarcastic laughs back from the group which are staring at him, showing a really aggressive and unpleasant tone of character towards Henry. Henry tries to walk away and they grab him and push him over and knock him out.

Scene 11 - TAKE THE DRUGS - Location Left Bench Outside Hawthorn

Henry begins to get scared and takes the drugs as fast as he can to get the pressure from the whole group of of his shoulders. However he immediately starts to feel the effects of the drugs and realises that he’s going to need some water.

Scene 12 - ASK FOR WATER - Location Left Bench Outside Hawthorn

Henry asks the group for some water and they once again laugh at him and the way he’s reacting to the drugs, the group take advantage of the situation that Henry’s put himself in by taking the drugs and they push him over and beat him up on the floor.

Scene 13 - DON’T ASK FOR WATER - Location Road Down the Side of Hawthorn

Henry feels scared to ask the group for water and begins to feel dazed and whilst the group are laughing at him Henry faints to the floor.
